Wow...It's been so long since my last post. And I regret to comeback with such a grim topic...

Last Saturday, in Greece there was a murder.A murder of a 15 year old child. That child dares to walk with his friends in one of the most popular spots in the center of Athens...

A policeman shot the boy in the heart because one of his friends mocked the cops and their presence in that neighbourhood...

Whatever the boy's crime was it just didn't deserve death...

And the wrost part? The goverment (as always) sent hooligans today to invade the marches (made in memory of the boy) and make them look like jeopardising squads...And there is more...Stupid and unedjucated journasists are taking advantage of the death maing the whole situation worse...

I won't say that everyone in the police squad is a looneycakes that kills kids...But I can't understand how this man (father of 3 kids) shot a boy in cold blood...

Sorry to bother you...It just hit me that we're not safe in the center of Athens?

It's official:Summer is here!!!!! *happy dance*

It feels so good to enjoy the heat..Especially at night..In an open air club under a starlight sky..It's just perfect.I've had my first sunbathing...Even song sound summer-ier.

And believe me this whole I-want-to-go-to-the-beach mood doesn't help with the upcoming exams..Nor do some distracting cutties... *blushes*

*mutters - Here comes the summer son...*

So far so good...After surviving many things (such as stupid boyfriend, university, parents, and a constant hairdresser battle) I think it's safe to say I'm back, in a summer mood!

I still haven't checked for un-friendings but during my absence, some of you didn't forget about me and I am really happy about that...It meant a lot to me to see that some people are still there. *squeezes you in a group hug*

So,here I am again...Ready for Vigbeans,stories,news,gossip and whatever more!

Did I mention that I got a purple highlight? )

I was listening to the radio when I heard this thing...

This story is from Costa Rica and is just stunning in it’s cruelty and depravity.

A Costa Rican artist found himself in hot water with the animal protection people in his home country after using a starving, sick street dog as part of an exposition in Managua, Nicaragua, in August. Guillermo “Habacuc” Vargas allegedly found the dog tied up on a street corner in a poor Nicaragua barrio and brought it to the showing. He tied the dog, according to furious animal lovers, in a corner of the salon where it died after a day. Habacuc’s exhibition included a legend spelled out in dog food reading “You are what you read,” photos and an incense burner that burned an ounce of marijauna and 175 “rock’ of crack cocaine. In the background, according to reports, the Sandista national anthem played backwards. According to the artist, his “art” was a tribute to Natividad Canda, a Nicaraguan burglar killed in Costa Rica by two rottweilers guarding property he had entered at night. The incident caused friction between the two countries. Habacuc told the daily La Nacion, “I won’t say the dog died. The importance to me is the hypocracy of the people where an animal is the focus of attention where people come to see art but not when it’s in the street starving to death.” “The same thing happened with poor Natividad Canda. The people sympathized with him only after he was dead,” the artist added. The artist apparently is unaware that at least three large, active organizations are dedicated in Costa Rica to the protection of animals and that several persons have been prosecuted for cruelty to animals. They are hampered in their efforts by the old Hispanic customs of disregard for animal welfare and by a lack of funding. (Costa Rica Blogs)

This was reposted by Maria Danes, the British singer who did so many tribute songs including for Mercy, the burned pitbull and Tobey, the tortured 5 month old Chihuahua mix puppy.

This cruelty will be repeated at the 2008 Biennial Exposition....

I just received an e-mail,about the "Donating a Mammogram" site. The site is in danger to close down because ,according to the mail, the visits have reduced the last months.

It's just a click away.It's free.It might save a woman's life.

To my f-list: Please post this to your journals as well and help the breast cancer site continue.

For those of you who don't already know, there has been a strike scheduled for Friday, March 21st, 2008, during which we hope to have many members of LiveJournal provide LJ with absolutely no content for twenty-four hours. This means no posting and no commenting. If you post elsewhere and have it set up to be posted through a feed on LiveJournal, don't do it. Stay away from LiveJournal for twenty-four hours. That can't be too hard, can it? I know some of you are probably quite active on LiveJournal and will find it hard to stay away for an entire day, just as I will, but this is something that needs to be done, to show the people running LiveJournal that we're watching the changes they are making, that we're paying attention, that we're discontent, and that we want to be heard and taken in to consideration. We are not simply users who can be tossed to the side and ignored. We are the people who make up LiveJournal. Without us, without the content we create, without our words, our voices, our creativity, our participation, there would be no LiveJournal. This is a fact, and it needs to be realized and understood and then taken in to consideration when making decisions regarding the way that LiveJournal is run. The strike is only a few days away, so there isn't all too much time to prepare. While this is unfortunate, it isn't enough to keep this strike from taking place. It will take place, the second it is meant to, and it would be best to have as many people take part as possible. Please, spread the word. Spread it fast. There are only a few days to organize this. If you find that you care about LiveJournal or care about the people you interact with on LiveJournal or simply want it to remain a place where you can entertain yourself without constant censorship and money-hungry practices being thrown in without the consideration of those who use the service, act now. If you don't wish to spread the word, that is fine, but please: refrain from using LiveJournal on Friday, March 21st. Do something else for a change. It's for a good cause. (:

For background on this strike and why it is being held, please read the following posts:
http://beckyzoole.livejournal.com/394838.html
http://beckyzoole.livejournal.com/395310.html

To find out exactly when the strike begins and ends, depending on where you are located, please see this:
http://beckyzoole.livejournal.com/395125.html

What's this about?

* It's about free and ad-free LiveJournal accounts being abolished for new members, ignoring the advice from the newly-formed Advisory Board.
* It's about LJ staff trying to sneak this decision in under the radar, and when people found out, telling the users it was done 'to make the signup process less confusing'.
* It's about LJ staff failing to apologize for trying to hide the facts from view and for lying about the actual reasons for their actions.
* And finally, it's about the latest decision to hide certain user interests from the list of Most Popular Interests, some of them being fanfiction, bisexuality, sex and depression. This decision was not announced or explained in any way. Users found out for themselves.

Where is the strike happening in your part of the world?

Sean Bean got married this morning in Marylebone Registry Office, for the 4th time.As much as I'd love to wish them many years together,I can't see it coming...

Here is a link to wedding pics:

It just seems so weird that such a quiet and private person like Sean, allowed his wedding to receive such attention and intrusion from the media...
